Redemption Through Faith

In 2004, I was sentenced to a lengthy prison term: life with the possibility of parole. My life was filled with one bad decision after another. In 2002, after being released on bail, I made the one decision that would change my life forever - in that moment I gave my life to Jesus Christ! Upon entering prison I left behind family and a girlfriend who was pregnant with our daughter on the way. Broken, remorseful, and alone, God had me right where he needed me to be with His undivided attention. It was there that I discovered how much God loves me and had the power to transform my mind, heart and life. It was there that I fell in love with Him!

It was clear to me that God had a plan and purpose for my life as I began to learn and teach the Bible in small groups of fellowship. My life of service to him had begun. I was reunited with my family and daughter when I was paroled in 2020, and continued to serve Him when He opened the prison doors to my freedom.

Believe: The Genesis of a Vision

God has given me the vision to spread the gospel and my story through this brand. Believe was the name that was chosen because it is the one thing we are resonsible for: to believe in Him and place our faith in His son.

When I finally BELIEVED, my life was changed forever. As I prayed for confirmation for the brand name I looked down at a cross that was attached to a keychain that I had been carrying for months. On the back of the keychain there was one word engraved: Believe!

Now that God gave me the word “believe” as confirmation, all I needed was a logo to reflect my story. After days of prayer and thought, I ruminated on my prison time and God gave me the word “transformation”. Upon googling the word “transformation”, the image that appeared was that of a symbolic transformation from a caterpillar into a butterfly. I saw so much more in that image… I saw my story!

Universal Transformation: A Call to Believe

The illustration of the hands bound together was so familiar to me, as it represented the handcuffs in the prison that once held me. What was so amazing to me is that I also saw the freedom and transformation I received from Christ in that same image. Excited and inspired…I combined the image, my story, and my vision of Believe, and presented them to a graphic designer who was also a friend. When he presented the logo that he created, I could see all of me in this image.

I BELIEVE that this is OUR story, not just mine alone. We all are prisoners to something in this world, whether you suffer any type of addiction, anger, or anxiety. We can find freedom and transformation in Christ if we just BELIEVE!
